The Police Command in Anambra on Friday said that it would mount special parade as part of events marking the handover of government in the state March 17.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Onitsha that the special parade would add colour to the occasion.

“The parade will also showcase the gallantry and readiness of officers and men of the command to respond to any crime or emergency-related situation in the state,’’ Chukwuemeka said.

He also said that the command had made adequate security arrangement to forestall any security challenge during the occasion.

“We are ready. All security arrangement had been made as I am talking to you now. Our men had been briefed and every necessary deployment made in respect of the occasion,’’ he said.

Chukwuemeka assured guests coming from within and outside the country to the occasion of an “exceptional professional treatment’’ from members of the police.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Peter Obi, will handover to Chief Willie Obiano, the governor-elect, at the Ekwueme Square, Awka, on March 17.
