Eagles Returnee, Haruna Wants ‘Another Chance’ After Tanzania Flop

Lukman Haruna has pleaded for another opportunity with the
Super Eagles after making a disappointing return to the national team at
the weekend.
The on-loan Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder was substituted after just 36 minutes as Nigeria drew goalless away to Tanzania on Saturday.
Coach Sunday Oliseh had employed him behind lone striker Emmanuel Emenike but never rose up to the ocassion and was immediately replaced by Sylvester Igboun.
“It was not me against Tanzania because the weather really affected me,” Haruna said.
“I hope I will be given another chance to show what I can really do.”
Prior to the game in Dar es Salaam, Haruna last donned the Super Eagles jersey at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa,
Some angry officials are quoted as saying he will not get another chance under the new leadership of the team.
