Hello, If you are still a college or university student and your financial status dwindles from time to time without a measure of stability, then there is trouble ahead. 

Action is needed, but who is to take this action and how? This article is best for international students who basically do not have enough cash flow from parents back home. I hope I am talking to a student today.

Many students have not yet started making real money (at least some change), many of you focus primarily on your studies, going to church, partying and having fun. However, it is important to take these times seriously, because the mistakes you make in college can follow you throughout the rest of your life. The school is for you to develop every aspect of your life; spiritual, moral, academic, FINANCIAL, etc. If you have any of this aspects missing, then pause and listen! I have a word for you today.

I was passing through the Engineering block in my campus few months back and saw some of my mates donating blood to the blood bank company, and I asked why? My inquisitiveness gave me answers to little things you can do on campus to gain some cheap cash. Read below:

Make money reselling your lecture/class notes

Emmanuel, a good friend of mine in school has Ever since grade/secondary school, been a voracious note taker. While other kids were busy swinging from one end of the monkey bars to another, he busied himself hard at work, jotting out good salient points and writing out mathematical equations that put a science to finding Waldo and proved that he was on to bigger and better things.

But you know what? He never made even a dime with them! Maybe because he is from a wealthy home, unlike you who go through financial trauma on campus. Why don’t you “copy and resale”? You can even re-package your notes by typing them, and before you know it, you are pocketing some dough!

 I don’t mean to encourage mediocre photography being sold in coffee shops for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. But, the truth remains that there are a lot of people that are taking pictures, sometimes very average pictures, who are making a decent living selling those very “average” photos, both online and in the real world.

Many advertising and marketing consultants for several national advertising agencies, buy thousands of stock photographs for use in their numerous campaigns. If you have a love of photography or a flair for creative expression, then you could be making thousands of dollars, each month, selling stock photography. This is best done in campuses elsewhere in the western world. That doesn’t mean you cannot figure a way of integrating such idea in it’s local sense in your country.

Mowing Lawns 

Majority of college/university students are mostly found in one of two places during school, 1) The library or 2) The gym (play ground). Being found in the Library is cool, after all it’s not your fault that you want your hippocampus (hippocampus is the part of your brain used for learning and memorizing) operating at top form, while your friends has members of the opposite sex playing.

Summer is around the corner and all that studying and muscle pumping, there’s wasn’t much time left to earn cash on the side for purchasing booze cruise tickets and pastel-colored board shorts. Approach your campus Mowing class guide and Follow their quick start lawn-mowing guide and you could make up to $600 a weekend! This is what a friend of mine is using to survive right now in Aston University, Birmingham. He is a Nigerian, but makes about $600USD per weekend.
Make and sell calenders

I guess you already know that firemen and Hooters girls are notorious for using scantily clad men and women to sell a yearly calendar as part of their fund-raising efforts. What you might not have realized is that you can easily make money selling calendars, without ever having to spend any up front cash! Get in touch with people who know more on this and join them.

Like I said earlier, I specifically wrote this article for Nigerians who are studying abroad on various “work and study schemes”. But, that doesn’t mean the ideas won’t work for non-Nigerians. I don’t expect you to lack money in campus from today. Put these into action and start pocketing some bucks.
