he All Progressives Congress, APC has called for an outright cancellation of the November 16 Anambra Governorship Election.
In a petition addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, the Interim National Chairman of the Party, Chief Bisi Akande said there were irregularities and non-compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act during the conduct of the election.
Chief Akande said that the planned supplementary election should be discontinued and a fresh election conducted in the interest of the people of Anambra state.
The party also asked for the transfer of the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Chukwuemeka Onukaogu.
The APC petition is in unison with the position taken by its candidate in the election, Dr Chris Ngige, who had addressed a press conference a day after the election, calling for its outright cancellation.
