The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the August 9 elections in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said that he is not desperate about becoming the next governor of the state.
Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state, made this known in a statement issued in Osogbo by Osun PDP’s Director of Media and Strategy, Mr. Diran Odeyemi on Monday.

Omisore stressed that he would rather continue to live as a private citizen than allowing any person’s blood to be shed on his behalf.

The statemenet said: “My governorship ambition does not worth the blood of any Osun citizen. My governorship ambition is about the people themselves and it is from them that I draw my inspiration and determination to serve them.

“The August 9 governorship election in Osun State would be a step forward from the overwhelming support that brought him in as the generally acceptable candidate of Osun PDP.

“It is high time security operatives started questioning the APC whenever it raises false alarms of insecurity and bloodshed because they always accuse others of what they plan to do.

“The APC should try and learn the attributes of democratic elements whenever it wishes to conduct its ward and state congresses.

“Although I doubt it if members of the APC have the political maturity and temperament to go through real congresses”, the statement said.
