Description: Reporting to the Manager, Site Construction Services, this General Laborer position is responsible for assisting with various maintenance/service tasks associated with job specific set up, as well as some carpentry and plumbing work. This position is safety sensitive, and will require drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Location: Grande Prairie Department: Camps & Catering Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain HNCC camp equipment to the highest possible condition. Assist in all tasks related to new camp set up. General site clean up to ensure a high-level cleanliness of all areas inside and outside the camp. Completes activities related to manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45lbs. Ensure all camp equipment is in good repair. Load and unload materials/supplies as required. Complete various maintenance and/or service tasks as required. Operates hand and power tools required to performs tasks of portable building installation. Cleans and stores tools and equipment. Assist carpenters and/or plumbers with service related tasks. Measure, cut, wood materials as directed. Interact with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems on site. Comply with all HNCC safety policies & procedures. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Qualifications: Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision. High school graduate diploma, or working towards the completion of one. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. Working Conditions: Construction site environment, with rotation work schedule, working in both inside and outside surroundings, potentially requiring duties to be performed in warm, cold, wet, humid or dry climates on a variety of surfaces including, concrete and gravel.
