Shakira To Perform At World Cup Closing Ceremony

Pop singer, Shakira will be holding it down at the closing ceremony of the World Cup, Brazil 2014.

She will be performing her new World Cup song: ‘La La La (Brazil 2014)’ which features the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Sergio Aguero, Cesc Fabregas, Eric Abidal, James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao, her 18-month-old son Milan and her partner Gerard Pique on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Maracana stadium, Rio de Janeiro, ahead of the final game.

She said in a statement: ‘I have an intricate relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I truly understand what the World Cup means to so many people, myself included. The fans have shown the most incredible support for this song and I can’t wait to perform it for them.’

She will be joined by Carlos Santana and Wyclef Jean, who will sing the official anthem ‘Dar Um Jeito’ alongside Brazil’s Alexandre Pires and local superstar Ivete Sangalo.
