Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt Saturday afternoon churned out one of their best performance in recent weeks as the Coach Stanley Eguma tutored side cruised to 3-1 win over visiting Lobi Stars in one of the day’s Glo Premier League Match Day 17 fixtures.
The hero for the Garden City team in Saturday’s game was Ifeanyi Egwim who netted a hat trick and ‘singlehandedly’ secured all three points for his team.

Egwim hit the ground running as early as the 6th minute when he put the hosts in front to calm the nerves at the Port Harcourt stadium.

Lobi after the early setback seemed to guard their loins and were able to curtail Dolphins for the rest of the duration for the first half.

However Coach Eguma was able to fashion a better approach to the second half as Egwim doubled Dolphins' lead with just two minutes into the second half.

Any hope of Lobi getting a rare comeback was extinguished when Egwim completed his hat trick late on in the game thus making the solitary strike from Eche Idakwo somewhat inconsequential.

In Jos, Giwa FC may have walked over Nembe City as the troubled Baribote Boys were not available for their game.

According to a top official with Nembe City, the team bus broke down on their way to Jos and a request for a 24-hour shift was solicited for from the LMC.

There are indications that the LMC may have not acceded to the game shift thus meaning Giwa will get three points and three goals from the botched fixture.

However, while there was no excitement from Jos, Benin City was awash with goals as the game between Bayelsa United and Heartland FC after 75 minutes of action had produced six goals.

Interestingly it is the Naze Millionaires who are taking a 2-4 lead but will have to wait till 8 am tomorrow to complete their game owning to the heavy downpour in the ancient city of Benin.
