ADO EKITI—Former governor of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodele Fayose, who is also seeking to return to the government house in the June gubernatorial polls, under the umbrella of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has again pleaded with his political opponents in the state not to entertain any fear that he would victimize them when he gets back to office.
He particularly appealed to members of his party to forget about past inadequacies and support his gubernatorial ambition during the party’s primaries to be conducted soon.
Fayose who claimed to have forgiven those who had hands in his impeachment in 2006,said he would work with everybody
The former governor made the statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday at his campaign office during a meeting with the PDP wards chairmen in the 177 wards across the state.
“I want those who still have it at the back of their minds that Fayose would revenge what they have done to him in the past when he gets to power to forget such.”
He said they should not allow themselves to be misled that he would not be picked by his party, saying he was ever ready to spend just a four year term in office
He charged the ward chairmen to go back to their different homes and mobilise others for the June 21, governorship election
In reciprocation of the sterling leadership qualities of the ex- Ekiti state governor, 172 out of the 177 Ward Chairmen at the event declared support for Fayose’s aspiration and wished him well in his quest to rule the state again.
The former governor solicited support for the restructuring programmes being initiated by the new National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, saying this would further fortify and reposition the party for positive changes .
He assured that he won’t leave the party even if not picked as the governorship candidate.
Messrs Olusola Adebayo, Theophilus Ojo and Laide Ogundola, who spoke on behalf of the ward chairmen, described Fayose as a reliable politician, who can offer leadership for the party at a time like this.
