Football family patriarch Archie Manning is psyched for Super Bowl XLVIII

The father of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, himself once the New Orleans Saints’ QB, couldn’t say enough nice things about New York City, although he admitted he always gets nervous when one of his sons plays an NFL game.

With apologies to the Big Easy and all the warm-weather cities vying for the Big Game, the Manning family patriarch said Gotham is the perfect site for Super Bowl XLVIII.

“I’m all for it,” Archie Manning told the Daily News on Thursday when asked about MetLife Stadium hosting his son Peyton, the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks for Sunday’s NFL title game.
