Surprises:Boko Haram’s Cameramen Caught in Adamawa

As the Nigerian troops continue to maintain their offensives against terrorists in North-Eastern Nigeria, more arrests have been made.

Some of the recent arrest include professional cameramen for the terrorist group who are experts in photo, video recording and filming of their attacks on communities and atrocities against innocent citizens.

The terrorists were nabbed during patrols, surveillance and raid operations to track fleeing terrorists in communities around Adamawa State

Confirming the development, the Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said four of those nabbed as they tried to escape in an SUV jeep with digital camera and weapons were taken into custody.

He added that they are helping in ongoing investigation in one of the barracks.

Also after Thursday’s killing of 67 Boko Haram terrorists who tried to over run the dynamite manufacturing town of Ashaka in Gombe state; Nigerian soldiers on patrol on Saturday engaged another group of terrorists of terrorists in the Kwanta community of Yobe area.

Military sources told Vanguard that apart from a number of terrorists that died in the encounter, some equipment and weapons were recovered from the fleeing members of the terrorists.

The weaponry included rapid propelling guns (RPGs) tubes, machine guns while several rounds of different calibres of ammunition were also captured from the terrorists.

No casualty was recorded on the part of the troops.

Recall that last Thursday, atleast 67 terrorists died during a fierce battle for the control of Ashaka, the host community of Ashaka Cement Plant in Gombe state last Thursday.

Their colleagues managed to retrieve three truckloads full of their members before their final retreat from the town, which they stormed earlier on that day after suffering heavy defeat in the hands of Nigerian troops.

The terrorists, who had come in large numbers with heavy equipment and convoy of over 30 vehicles including a number of motor cycles, were on a mission to take control of Ashaka town, after they had operated in Bajoga and environment in the state.

According to a tweet on Defence Headquarters handle (last Friday December 5, 2014) noted that troops who got wind of their intention to overrun other towns pursued the terrorists while some also laid ambush for them.

The terrorists were forced to abandon the mission when the troops proved unyielding.

Most of the vehicles and equipment used by the terrorists for their mission, were destroyed before they chose to flee the location.

Unfortunately, more than 10 soldiers, paid the supreme sacrifice during the battle while others who were wounded are being treated in military hospitals

Two Politicians In Lagos Caught With Many Litres Of Fresh Human Blood

Policemen attached to the Imota Police Station in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, were amazed to the bone marrow when the contents of 2 25-litre jerry-cans they found in the possession of two men they arrested, turned out to be human blood.

The arrested men identified as Alfa Balogun Tajudeen Ogunsanya, who hails from Gberigbe community in Ikorodu, and an unidentified stranger who residents were not able to identify, were arrested in the early hours of yesterday trying to sneak away with the containers which police initially suspected to be stolen petroleum product since the area has an high occurrence of pipeline vandalization, but they were dumbfounded when they turned out to be fresh human blood.

One of the residents of Gberigbe, who gave his name as Amos Oludero, narrated how the men were arrested:

We identified one of the men as a native of this town but the other man is strange to us. They wanted to alight from a car near the town hall opposite Fezbam filling station, each of them with a 25-litre jerrycan. While Ogusanya came down first, the cover of the jerrycan being carried by the second man opened and blood spilled on the ground.

Oludero said this attracted the attention of other residents and passers-by who came together and discovered the kegs were full of blood.

He added that they were immediately arrested and taken to Imota Police Station by policemen.

However, another resident said that it might be a move by Ogunsanya to incriminate another family over a land dispute.

This was attempted in the past in a case of land dispute. The appeal court ruled in favour of Orelabi family on the disputed mass of land in Gberigbe. The Alfa arrested yesterday is from Ogunsanya family. He might be going to keep the cans in the compound of the other family and later call the police to arrest members of that family.

Meanwhile, the police said the men had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID), Panti, for further investigation.

AVIATION Authorities Release The Russian Plane Seized In Kano

Military equipment is for French peacekeepers in Chad - ----Jacques Champagne de Labriolle, France ambassador to Nigeria.

AVIATION authorities are to release the Russian plane seized in Kano over the weekend after receiving a satisfactory explanation that the military hardware the aircraft was carrying was meant for French peacekeepers currently serving in Chad.

On Saturday, security officials at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport seized a Russian Antonov plane that was enroute to the Chadian capital Ndjamena laden with arms and ammunition. It was feared that the weapons might belong to terrorist sect Boko Haram but the French embassy in Nigeria has come out to confirm that it owns the cargo.

Loaded with two helicopters parts and other sophisticated weapons including two sport utility vehicles and an array of AK 47 assault rifles, the plane had stopped in Kano to refuel before it was seized. Its six crew members were arrested but the Russian embassy has denied it has anything to do with the weapons, pointing out that it was the French government who hired the aircraft.

According to the Russian Embassy in Abuja, the seized aircraft had been chartered to transport the military equipment to the French peacekeepers in Chad. It issued an official Tweet saying: “The plane was chartered by the French peacekeeping mission in Chad and transporting its property."

Defence spokesman Group Captain Wakperem Maigida, said that the military had already commenced an investigation into the impounded aircraft. He added that the military authorities are seeking to determine the content and origin of the aircraft.

However, France has admitted ownership of the seized cargo plane. France's embassy in Nigeria said that the flight was covered by a diplomatic clearance given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, noting that the Autonov 124 commercial plane was forced to land at the Kano airport because of dense air traffic at the Ndjamena airport in Chad.

Jacques Champagne de Labriolle, France's ambassador to Nigeria, said that the plane had to divert to an alternate international airport and the closest facility was Kano. He added that the Russian crew decided to fly there to refuel and to take off again for Ndjamena.

Mr de Labriolle denied that the plane was carrying arms and ammunition, stressing that it was conveying two light Gazelle helicopters, spare parts and maintenance items belonging to the French Army. He added that official information had been supplied by the French embassy in Nigeria, noting that the federal and airport authorities, being satisfied with the documents and the genuine character of the flight, had announced that the plane would be authorised to pursue its flight to Ndjamena.

Yes, 336 referrals are what I got in just 7 days for just 30 min of effort. How did I do that? That is the question which I am going to answer in this blog post.

Before we start, let me tell you that this is no trick, no secret. It’s pure ethical marketing strategy. In fact after I reveal this strategy, some of you might think “Why I did not think of that?” Yes, it’s that simple. I would try to make this post as short as possible and to the point. Just make sure that you read it till the end.

Step 1:

Find a program to promote. It can be anything of your choice. Your own website, youtube video, blog, affiliate program etc

Step 2:

After selecting the program, your next step is to login to facebook and search for facebook groups related to niche of the program you wish to promote. For example if you wish to promote some online earning program than search for “Online income”, ”Online earning”, ”Make money online” etc You will be surprised to see that there are thousands of such group available with average 4000 people in each group. Join as many facebook groups as possible. More groups you join, more people you will reach.

Step 3:

This is the most important step. Step 1 & 2 were basic and 99% of you will be aware of effect of facebook groups. But the problem that most people face is that marketing on facebook groups is very time consuming. Posting on mere 100 groups might take 3-4 hrs of your time and cause a headache.

Last month I came across this tool and things have changed since them. That tool is SlackSocial.com. In short slacksocial is a social media management tool which will allow you to schedule post on multiple facebook groups in just 1 click. Yes 3-4hrs of effort reduced to just 2 minutes. More over slacksocial is extremely reasonably priced so that everyone can afford it plus it has free option too. SlackSocial also has an affiliate program which offers 10% lifetime recurring commissions. So by referring people you can make a good stable extra income from slacksocial itself.

I have joined more than 600 groups on facebook and it just takes me 30 mins to schedule post on all of them. I do it just 1-2 times a week and get a good number of referrals.

Step 4:

I guess step 4 is now just a formality. You all must have figured out how to make facebook groups a traffic generating tool. All you have to do now is promote your links on your facebook groups using slacksocial.

Create attractive posts
add your promotional link
select facebook groups on which you wish to promote,
schedule your post for delivery

Let’s talk numbers:

On an average a facebook group has 4000 members

Assume 1% of people view your post

Assuming you promote on 600 groups your total audience reach would become

4000*600*0.01 = 24000

Imagine the number of signups you can get if you can reach 24000 people. This is what I exactly did and got 336 referrals in just 7 days.

A program with a good CTR can give you even better figures.

In conclusion I would say that I tried this method and it worked for me. You can also try this and find it for yourself. Hope this works for you too

Nigeria's Second Most Indebted State (Kaduna) -EL- Rufai

Mallam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufa’i, the Kaduna State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the 2015 elections says the state is Nigeria’s second most indebted state.

Speaking in an interview, the former FCT minister lamented that Kaduna had no industrial base or commercial capacity to bear its heavy debt burden. Data as at June 2014 show that the top foreign debtors are Lagos (N162 billion), Kaduna (N40 billion) and Bauchi (N17 billion).

“From estimates, every child born in Kaduna State has a debt of N15,000. If you have a child to be born tomorrow, that child already has a debt burden of N15,000, and there are about eight million people in Kaduna State, so, you do the calculation,” he said.

El-Rufai however noted that “in spite of that, we are confident that we will find a way to work with the people of Kaduna State because there are areas of leakages, corruption we plan to tackle and there is large capacity to expand internally generated revenue.

“In spite of the fact that oil prices are falling and we are facing a dire economic situation more serious than anything that we have faced since 1984, we will do our best to improve the situation because we are committed to making Kaduna great again and we cannot do it without you. We hope once our campaigns; we will have some of you as part of our campaign team, so that you record and document every stage and expose everything.

“We want a transparent campaign and we are not afraid of having the media with us. I hope you will be vigilant before the campaign starts in the next one week or so. Keep an eye on all of us and ask us the most difficult questions and hold us to account and keep a record of all our promises and ensure that for the next four years we do not rest until we meet the aspirations of the people of Kaduna state,” he said.

Speaking on his tenure as minister, El-Rufai dismissed insinuations that he was controversial. “I do not know what you mean by controversial,” he said, adding however that he has “always maintained that I am not controversial. Look at me, I am not big and I am not very strong. Until 1999 when I became the DG of BPE, no one had ever heard of me. If I was a controversial person you would have heard of me.

“I think my fortune or misfortune in public life is that I tend to get the most difficult assignments that every other person is scared of doing. My first real job in government was DG of the BPE and my job was to sell public assets. That is controversial. It is not el-Rufa’i that was controversial, it was the assignment because people are used to government managing everything.”

“Some of these things are difficult to do and in this country if you want to do the job as written in the books, you are given all sorts of names and tags, controversial is one of them. I am not controversial, I mind my business and when I was Adviser to Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar for one year, you never heard of me because an Adviser advises quietly. But once I am given a job and I agree to do it, I do it with all my heart and as Minister of the FCT which is one of the most difficult jobs, I did my job to the best of my ability. I do not think that the issue is whether I was controversial or not. “

“The question you should ask me is whether I left Abuja better than I met it. And I think most people in Abuja will say I did. That is what matters. Now, what about Kaduna? Kaduna is different from Abuja in many respects. So, there is work to be done here. Not everything to be done here will be loved by the people. A lot of it will be embraced by the people but if there is a job to be done and I undertake to do it, if the people of Kaduna State elect me it is because they want change. They do not want this place to be a state of bill boards and no action,” El-Rufai said.

Court Injunction To Scuttle Obasanjo Book Launch

President Jonathan Gets Court Injunction To Scuttle Obasanjo Book Launch

A few days after a delegation of five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors failed to persuade former President Olusegun Obasanjo to reconcile with President Goodluck Jonathan, the latter has used one of his proxies to attempt to scuttle the launch of Mr. Obasanjo book.

SaharaReporters had reported exclusively that the former president’s book harshly criticizes Mr. Jonathan as well as former Vice President Abubakar Atiku and other political players.

The three-volume book is scheduled to be formally launched in Nigeria this week. The third volume, which is devoted to the happenings since Mr. Obasanjo left office, contains the sharp criticism of the Jonathan government. It contains highly uncomplimentary details about the incompetence of President Jonathan in handling several major issues. The book also details Mr. Obasanjo’s efforts to help Mr. Jonathan to address some national issues that have now ballooned into major catastrophes.

In a stunning move, Kashamu Buruji, a sworn enemy of Mr. Obasanjo, has obtained an injunction from an Abuja Federal High Court judge stopping Obasanjo from publishing or circulating the book.

According to court documents seen by SaharaReporters, Alex Izinyon (SAN) filed a lawsuit (FCT/HC/M/2392/2014) on behalf of Kasahmu last week seeking an injunction restraining Obasanjo from publishing or circulating his autobiography. Justice Valentine Ashi reportedly granted a ruling ordering Mr. Obasanjo not to publish the book or circulate it until the substantive case is resolved. The case was adjourned till December 10, 2014.

Mr. Buruji is wanted in the US for drug-related offenses. Recently, he lost all appeals aimed at stopping the US justice system from trying him. Mr. Buruji's rising political profile is one of the reasons the former president fell out with Mr. Jonathan.

Last week SaharaReporters broke the news that President Obasanjo will be releasing his book to the public this week. Since then President Jonathan has panicked. Officials of the State Security Service (SSS) were instructed to seize copies of the book from its publishers, but one security source told SaharaReporters that they discovered that President Obasanjo had already taken possession of copies of the book meant to launched and presented to the public soon.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, has alleged that some senior lawyers are behind the increased level of corruption in the judiciary.

The CJN made the allegation when the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), led by its National President, Chief Augustine Alegeh, SAN, paid him a courtesy visit at the weekend.

According to him, corrupt politicians often use lawyers to tempt judges with bribes. Some lawyers not only aid, but equally abet corruption within the Bench, he noted, saying this portends grave danger for the justice system in the country.

Mohammed therefore tasked the NBA to do its best to purge itself of ‘some corrupt elements’ within its fold.

“I want to use this opportunity to urge the Bar to put the interest of the system far and above the individuals. Imagine this scenario; you in the Bar decry the ‘rots’ on the Bench, calling for disciplining and cleansing of the judiciary by weeding out the bad eggs on the Bench.

“Yet, you are the first to jump to the court to seek restraining order on NJC to stop it from the investigation and trial of a judge based on a petition brought against the judge before the council. How then is the principle of fair hearing sustained?”

The CJN however vowed to re-invigorate the judicial cleansing process that was commenced by his predecessors.

He was joined in welcoming the NBA delegation by other Justices of the Supreme Court – Justices Mohammed Tanko Ibrahim, John Fabiyi, and Bode Rhodes-Vivour.
